Access Blocked Websites at School 2014

Almost every school which provides internet to the students has web filtering software on its network. Web filtering software such as fortiguard web filter, Websense, Norton Parental Control, Safe eyes and much more. These web filtering software are very strong in blocking websites under several categories such as email websites to social networking websites.

Students at school are most probably interested in social networking websites such as Facebook and twitter but they don't know the ways to open as it's blocked by the web filtering software. While there are ways through which you can open every websites but they need administrator rights. Admin rights are needed to install certain software on your school or college computers.

Below are few methods to access blocked websites which do not require any software to install. However these methods totally depend on your school's network security. Don't take it for granted that they will work in your school. Secondly, these methods may not work for social networking websites but it will work for millions of other websites.

1.  Use of HTTPS

Hyper text transfer control ( HTTP ) is mostly used in the address bar for many websites. However if your school network does not have settings to block website having HTTPS then you can easily access those websites. Websites such as http://games.microsoft.com, https://www.gmail.com Note that these web addresses have https in front of them.

You can access these blocked websites simply by typing in the address written above.

2. Language Translator

This is the best method if you are searching for any document or guide or any other material just to read. Certainly web filtering software blocks numerous websites with good content on them. However you can use Google Web Page Translator or Yahoo's Babelfish.

Suppose you are using Yahoo's Babelfish web page converter. Type in the web address of the websites that you want to convert and Select the Languages as ENGLISH TO ENGLISH. The website in English language will appear in English language only. Fact is your school can't block Google and yahoo because there is no other better way to search for information.

3. Google Cache

Google stores a copy of all the webpages that it indexes. Suppose if you searched for a result and a result form website eHOW.com appears and when you clicked on it, you found that it's blocked. You can simply hit the back button and choose the Google Cache option to see the page.

4. Use Website's IP Address

In few schools, the network does not block the direct ip address blocking of websites. You can use direct IP address in your browser's address bar to open the website. Remember it totally depend on your school network. To find the direct IP address of any website, open CMD prompt. Now type PING WEBSITE's NAME for example : PING GOOGLE.COM and you can see certain IP address no. Simply copy and paste that in your address bar.

In my Next POST, I will come up with SOFTWARE to UNBLOCK WEBSITES AT Your SCHOOL.
